International Solidarity

The Communist Organization of Greece salutes the Communist Party of the Philippines on the 40th anniversary since its founding. We extend our greetings to the whole leadership and membership of CPP; to the valiant commanders and fighters of the New People’s Army; to the NDF and its allied organizations; to the leaders and militants of the legal national democratic popular movement; and, through them, to the whole Filipino People who have a great legacy of patriotic and revolutionary struggles and are always on the frontline of the international movement against imperialism and reaction.

Down with the Zionist Neo-Nazis!The Zionist entity of Israel sharpened its murderous, genocidal policy with the ongoing bloodiest and most barbarous massacre of hundreds of Palestinians, including civilians and children. The year of Nakba’s 60th anniversary concludes in the bloodiest way for the heroic, martyred Palestinian People. The year 2008 concludes also in the most revealing way for the criminal nature of the Zionist entity, the gendarme of the US and EU imperialists in the region. The protracted campaign of slow extermination through the total blockade of Gaza has now been replaced by the mass murder of hundreds of Palestinians.

The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) expresses its deep sorrow on the news of Comrade Maha Nassar’s passing away. “ Um Wadee’ ” is no more among us… and yet, she will always live in our memory and in our struggles! Because Maha Nassar was a bright beacon of resolute struggle, a shining example of dedication to the cause of Palestine and of Women Liberation, a remarkable human being who never capitulated in front of the enemy. Hers was a life worth to be lived, a life in the service of the Palestinian People and of the Revolution.

The news of Arnaldo Otegi’s liberation after 15 months of imprisonment under ridiculous charges is welcomed with satisfaction by the many Greek friends of the Basque Patriotic Left. His case underlines the impasse of the Spanish State’s policy, which is enforcing a brutal repression on a mass popular movement that expresses the legitimate aspirations of hundreds of thousands of Basque citizens. This policy, apart from being openly antidemocratic and unjust, constitutes a direct attack against any effort for a political resolution of the conflict in the Basque Country. The illegalization of parties and associations, the persecution of their leaders and militants, the successive waves of barbaric repression against the Basque youth, never were and will never be able to give a permanent, just and democratic solution to the Basque issue. The only real and lasting solution will come only through dialogue and negotiation.

I feel like it is a dream to have finally entered the Gaza Strip. We thought that the Israelis would stop us from entering the Strip as they have said, but they could not. However, from the beginning, we were sure that we would reach Gaza because we decided to enter by any means.

The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) enthusiastically salutes the break of the Israeli blockade of Gaza by the International Solidarity Movement and the international initiative Free Gaza. KOE salutes the activists on board of the two Greek-flag vessels who, thanks to their courage and resolute attitude, brought to the coast of Gaza and to its suffering people new shines of hope. KOE salutes the proud Palestinian People who keeps marching on the path of dignity and liberation, despite the unspeakable hardships it suffers because of the barbaric occupation by the Israeli Neonazis. KOE salutes the International Solidarity Movement who overcame great obstacles and fulfilled its duty, proving once more that the peoples and the militants are able to face successfully the supposedly “all-powerful” enemy.

The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) has sent on Friday 13/6 the following message to all the Irish organizations who worked for the historic victory of NO:

Dear Friends and Comrades!

Thanks to the Irish People, the anti-democratic, anti-people European Union's plans received a decisive blow.

We are confident that we express the opinion of millions of Greek citizens, who were not allowed to have their voice heard on the issue of the Lisbon Treaty, saying you only these words:

THANK YOU! Go raibh mile maith agaibh!

On behalf of the Leading Committee of the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE), we express our deep sorrow on the sad news about the passing away of Ka Bel, Crispin Beltran. We convey our most sincere condolences to his family, to the Anakpawis Partylist, to the whole national democratic movement, the working class and the people of the Philippines.

The Leading Committee of the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE)

To Comrade Chairman Prachanda and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist)

CPN (maoist)Comrades!

There are times that the formal messages are unable to express the enthusiasm and inspiration of the communists and of the progressive popular masses. Your great victory, which unfolds in all its extend day by day as the results of the CA polls become known all over the world, created such unique moments these days among the communists and left people in Greece and all over the world. Against enemies and fake “friends”, repulsing the reactionary provocations and the plots of the old, rotten world, the popular masses of Nepal stood up once more and vigorously made their aspiration for a new Nepal heard: a Federal Democratic Republic, where the people will be the master of its own fate!

On the eve of the elections for the Constituent Assembly in Nepal, the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) extends to the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) the most heartfelt and comradely wishes for a great success, which will open wide the road towards the building of a New Nepal, of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

bloody repression in EgyptThe textile workers in Mahalla Al-Kubra are in the forefront of the struggle of the poor masses of Egypt against rising prices and low wages, while more than one third of the population “survives” with less than 1 Euro per day. Their “wild” strike last Sunday 6 April 2008 met with bloody repression by the reactionary neoliberal regime of Mubarak. Dozens of thousands of demonstrators courageously faced the guns and the batons of the “anti-riot” forces and of paramilitary state gangs. According to information transmitted to us by the Communist Party of Egypt, at least 200 activists were arrested during the protests in Mahalla, Cairo and other Egyptian cities, while many more were wounded and at least two persons (a 9 year old girl and a 20 year old male) were murdered by the regime’s forces. We call upon all progressive, democratic, antineoliberal and anti-imperialist forces to express in any way possible their solidarity with the heroic struggle of the Egyptian workers and popular masses. Please consider the organization of protests and send your statements to the Egyptian government with copies to the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights, the Communist Party of Egypt and/or the social and political organizations you maintain contacts with.

Dear Comrades,

Please accept our most sincere congratulations and warmest solidarity greetings on the 12th Anniversary since the launching of People’s War in Nepal. The Leading Committee, the cadres, members and sympathizers of KOE enthusiastically hail on this occasion the vanguard role of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) in the ongoing process of the Nepalese Revolution and its great leaps forward in the struggle against monarchy, feudalism, imperialism and bureaucratic capitalism, which were greatly advanced thanks to the successful waging of People’s War.

The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) joins the millions of progressive and good-will people in Palestine and all over the world in the demand of freedom for Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat and all the Palestinian prisoners.

Comrade Ahmad Sa’adat was detained on January 2002 by the Palestinian Authority security forces, acting as agents of USA and Israel, and then abducted and imprisoned by the Zionist Occupation forces with the compliance of his US and British guards. Together with more than 11.000 Palestinians suffering with him in the Occupation jails and concentration camps, Ahmad Sa’adat is an example of the barbaric repression imposed on the Palestinian People by the US-Israeli neo-nazis.

Dear Comrades,

It is with great pleasure that we received the news about your decision to change the name of your organization. We are especially happy because this change comes as a necessity after your relative strengthening, thanks to your continuous ideological, political and organizational work under the most difficult conditions, right in the heart of US imperialism. Indeed, this change will allow you to better approach and win over new comrades, and will facilitate your mass work, particularly among the working masses.

Dear Comrades,

On behalf of the Leading Committee and of the whole membership of the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE), we extend our warmest comradely greetings to the leadership, members and supporters of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) on the occasion of its 40th founding anniversary.

Ahmad Maslamani, leading cadre of the PFLPOn behalf of the Leading Committee and of the whole membership of the Communist Organization of Greece (KOE), we express our deep sorrow on the sad news about the passing away of Comrade Ahmad Maslamani. We convey our most sincere condolences to his family, to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, to the Union of Health Work Committees, to all his comrades, colleagues and friends.

Dear Friends and Comrades,

On behalf of the undersigning Greek political and social organizations, we salute the mobilization of the Basque Amnesty Movement and join our voices with yours in the demand to end the repression by the French and Spanish states, to demilitarize the Basque Country and to resolve the problem of the Basque militants that are imprisoned or in exile because of the ongoing conflict. We are convinced that the only realistic and democratic solution to this conflict is to advance a sincere dialogue, with respect to the basic rights of the peoples, such as the right to self-determination. Furthermore, in order to facilitate a democratic process to resolve the conflict, the ongoing illegalization of mass organizations of the Basque Patriotic Left and the revengeful persecution and repression against its militants must immediately cease. Let us repeat here an excerpt of a recent letter that we addressed to Mr Zapatero and to Mr Blanco about the case of the Basque political prisoner Iñaki de Juana:

Dear Comrades and Friends,

On behalf of the Youth of KOE (Communist Organization of Greece) and of the Left Mass Formations of the Youth, we salute the International Anti-imperialist Youth Conference that takes place in Germany this weekend, and wish that it will contribute to further advance the coordination and joint action of the various progressive and revolutionary youth organizations against our common enemies: imperialism and neoliberalism.

To the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Athens, Ms Hana Mottlová

Dear Madame,
The Communist Organization of Greece joins the hundreds of progressive and left organizations all over the world in the condemnation of the prohibition of the Communist Youth Union (KSM) by the Czech authorities. The “final” decision of October 12, 2006 is a provocative act, violating the most elementary democratic and political rights that should be guaranteed by any state that wishes to be called democratic. Or the fact that there is no other European state that dared to outlaw a communist organization makes you believe that the Czech Republic is the only true guard of the “values” that you proclaim to support?

The Communist Organization of Greece joins the hundreds of progressive and left organizations all over the world in the condemnation of the unprecedented prohibition of the Communist Youth Union (KSM) by the Czech authorities. The “final” decision of October 12, 2006 is a most provocative act, violating the elementary democratic and political rights. This act attempts to penalize the Marxist ideology and the mass struggles for a society that will not be founded on the exploitation of humans by humans. This fascist-type decision of the Czech authorities, an unprecedented act for the “modern European democracies”, has already been condemned by thousands of progressive people and militants, among them Dario Fo and Zapatista leader Marcos.
