KOE celebrates the 90th Anniversary of the October Revolution all over Greece PDF Print E-mail

The Revolution is a Law of Progress

The Communist Organization of Greece (KOE) sends warmest comradely greetings to the Communist, Revolutionary and Progressive Forces all over the world.

These days our Organization concludes a nation-wide round of public meetings and activities celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the October Revolution, which marked the end of human pre-history and the entrance of humankind in a new era.

Until today KOE has organized a total of 37 public meetings for the October Revolution: 12 in various neighborhoods of Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras, as well as 25 in other cities all over Greece. Thousands of people participated in these meetings, many of which took place in cities or neighborhoods where such activities had not taken place for years. In most cases, this kind of meeting included the projection of a documentary film, exposition of photos, publications and other materials, and a main speech followed by debate with the participation of the audience.

These public meetings have been supported by the circulation of various materials. Among others:

(1) a poster that has been put up in 15.000 copies all over Greece; (2) local leaflets distributed in thousands of copies in various workplaces, neighborhoods, universities and technical colleges; (3) a special issue of our paper “Aristera” dedicated to the 90th Anniversary; (4) a book with testimonies and memories of several protagonists of the October Revolution; (5) a documentary film based on original materials; (6) five post-cards with quotations of Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, Antonio Gramsci, Mao Zedong and Che Guevara about the revolution.

Using all these means, we tried to reach a broad range of working people and youth, bringing even to remote regions of our country the message of the October Revolution, under the general slogan “The Revolution is a Law of Progress”. This campaign was not based on nostalgia, but on the deep conviction that the Revolution is timely and necessary in the 21st century as the only means to bring the transition to a radically different, superior system of social relations.

KOE supports that the actually vague quest of millions of people for “another world” may transform, with the work of the Communist Left, in a concrete demand of the great majority to put an end to the genocidal and destructive imperialist/capitalist system and replace it by the only possible positive alternative: Communism. Based on the positive and negative experiences of the Revolutions of the 20th century, the Communist Left must prepare the new assaults of the proletariat and the peoples.

Long Live the October Revolution!

The Revolution is a Law of Progress!

Communism is the Future of Humankind!
